Rosa Fort High School is located in Tunica, Mississippi, an area renowned for its agricultural heritage and vibrant casino industry. During the exploration phase of this project, we uncovered a portrait of Rosa Fort herself, displayed prominently in the school’s hallway. In the portrait, she is seen wearing a black blouse and a diamond-shaped brooch. The distinctive diamond shape influenced several design details throughout the project. Additionally, the “LIONS” wordmark is inspired by the bold, illuminated marquee signs often found in casinos and other gaming venues, tying the school’s identity to the local culture.
